Christmas Shop Update

The Christmas season is officially upon us, so bring out the decorations, the festive candles and the egg nog! Yah, hoo! And p.s. my shop has just been updated with all kinds of Christmas goodies, so head on over and take a look!

Latest Project

A year ago my mom sent me tons and tons of vintage Meyercord decals, housewives used to adorn everything from their kitchen cabinets to cotton ball jars with these once inexpensive decals. I've been busy myself with them...

(See what I had for lunch? It was a Veggie Delight sub with extra, extra jalapenos.)

Valentine's Tags

The other day I had a Valentine tag making party, I was the only member at the party, but it was a party nonetheless. (Well, if you look hard you can see a groundhog eye through the second heart) :)

I punched out sixty hearts and thought for sure I'd have a giant bruise in the middle of my palm from pushing down on my punch so hard. I'm happy to say my hand is bruise free, let the punching continue!

I piled up all the little hearts into my rabbit dish which holds my sweater clips. I saw the little mushroom container and just couldn't pass it up at Anthropologie. Maybe it is a bad thing that I live within walking distance of there...

Mini Shop Update

I am sticking to my resolution by updating my shop, yay! The update is mini, but the items are mini too. And it has a Valentine's Day theme. <3



Tick Tock We Need a Clock

There are several little clocks around our apartment, but in our eating/sitting area the only clock we have is on our microwave. Eww, yuck; a digital clock! In case you are wondering, the microwave is on top of the fridge which  happens to be in the living room. Anyway, we need a cute wall clock. I found all of these over at the etsy shop decoylab.

I really like this one, it reminds me of a vintage flower tray of my mom's.

D.'s been wanting a cuckoo clock, but I'm not sure that this is what he had in mind...

My personal favorite from their shop, but it's reserved for someone else. Sniff.

Holly Pins

While visiting my parents in Korea a couple of years ago, I bought a bunch of felt from a mega craft warehouse, it is the best quality I have ever stumbled upon and it has been serving me well. And here's what I've been doing with it of late...

These vintage inspired holly/poinsettia pins are pretty quick to make and only require a few supplies. It's so much fun to mix little berries with different types of ribbons and pom-poms; the possiblities are endless! All of these can be found in my shop.

This particular one is good for either a girl or a boy, since it isn't too feminine. I made one for D. too, he is such a good sport when it comes to wearing my creations.

I can't help but think of the old Grinch cartoon when I look at this one. Which reminds me, I have yet to watch that this year.

While making these I had to also make a few for myself, I made a copy of this one for me. My mom has a Christmas table cloth from the 1950's covered in poinsettias, this pin reminds me of that vintage tablecloth.

Icy cool

Even though these are pins, sometimes I put them in my hair as well. I make them serve double duty. Hop on over here, and pretty soon you too can be gazing at your Christmas tree with a little holly pin in your hair or on your sweater.

Spotlight On...

N. Brocx is a dear friend of mine who runs the etsy shop Fragrant Tulip, which specializes in quilts, jewelry, and purses. All of her fabric is 100% cotton and her creative taste is impeccable. I am the proud owner of three of her quilts, the latest one being a wedding gift to D. and I.

Happy (Belated) Birthday to Me

The other day I was pleasantly surprised to find a belated birthday package waiting for me in the kitchen. This is what was inside.


My crafty second mom made me these two little owl pouches, oh she knows how I like owls. I plan on using the bigger one to keep my latest embroidery project floss and other embroidery tools inside.

Wasted Time

I thought it would be fun to make homemade marshmallows, I heard wonderful things about how delicious they are, and how they are so much better than store bought. Well, I used a popular domestic homemaker's (*cough*cough* Martha Stewart) recipe, and all I got was a sick-o gelatinous mess. I tried to eat one, but it was so bad I spit it in the rubbish bin. I was very disappointed. I will try making them again some day in the future, but I will NOT use that horrid recipe.

On the Hunt...

I am looking for the perfect rock to paint a gnome on, this is more difficult than you might think. It must be smooth and triangular in shape. I came across this cute little clay gnome on etsy, and he is similar to something that I want to try my hand at making.


Yesterday, while walking across the Costco parking lot, I did find a rock but it looked exactly like a potato. I stuck it in my pocket and I walked around with it for an hour. I came back home, put it in the kitchen, and fifteen minutes later when I went back into the kitchen I thought it was a potato. No, a potato rock will not do.
